For this season Finlays Skiing Holidays have 24 catered chalets in 22 different buildings, the chalets all vary in style, size and ambience each having its own particular characteristics and location, we will certainly advise you on which would best suit your party.
Rooms in chalets also vary. Please look at descriptions and chalet plans for dimensions, bathroom facilities and bed arrangements. All bedrooms are allocated at the time of booking.
All Finlays ski holiday chalets have pitched roofs and in many cases bedrooms are located on the top floor and consequently have sloping ceilings. There may not, therefore, be full height throughout the room, this is indicated in the chalet descriptions.
All of our chalets have CD tape players and some have satellite televisions, please note that where t.vs. are installed only limited channels are available.
We like to think that you will treat the chalet as your home for the duration of your holiday, and you can certainly bring books, games, CD's and your favourite drinks.
Soap, bath towels, hand towels and bath mats are provided. Bath towels and bath mats will be changed once during the week.
We ask all our ski holiday clients to wear indoor shoes or slippers in all of our chalets so please make sure that you do bring a pair with you. You should also make sure that you bring some footwear that is appropriate for walking on snow and ice. Roads, paths and steps in ski resorts are all likely to be slippery, even in Springtime.
Chalets that are designated "Ski in/ski out" can only be so when the snow conditions allow it.
We strongly advise that you do not leave valuable items or cash in the chalets when you are skiing/boarding.
Children are very welcome when they are part of a group taking over a whole chalet.
It is at Finlays Skiing holidays discretion whether to accept a part chalet booking when there are children under 10 years old in the group. Anybody who wishes to book the remaining places will be told the ages of the children, and it will therefore be their choice whether they wish to share with a party with young children. We will not normally accept a booking from a group with children under 10 years old if there are just adults already booked into the chalet.
Children aged twelve and under will be expected to take early supper at around 6.30pm, under the supervision of at least one adult in the party. Groups who have taken the whole chalet are free to decide if their children eat with the adults.
The age at which ski schools accept children does vary, but is
generally no younger than four years old. In our experience, a child probably has to be at least four and a half years old before he/she can get any benefit from ski lessons.
We are very happy to help book all arrangements for childrenÕs
ski/board lessons, nursery, cr¸che and babysitting, but please be aware that we ourselves do not provide these services and we therefore cannot be held responsible if you are unhappy with the
facilities provided.
We strongly advise that you should not take very young children.
Altitude and temperature can affect infants adversely, and it can be dangerous walking on icy roads with a pushchair, and negotiating snow covered steps whilst carrying a child.
All of our chalets and apartments are non-smoking chalets, except on the balconies or terraces. All flight, train and coach operators now have a strict no smoking policy as well. Please do not ask if your group can be an exception, even if you take over the whole chalet, aeroplane, train or coach.
