| The Chalet's Situation |
Catered chalet St Bernard is situated in a wonderful position in the Chenus area of Courchevel 1850, almost beside the red Dou du Midi piste. For reasonable skiers and boarders, it is normally possible to ski or board to and from the door, but for novices, it is a 5 minute walk to the main lifts and ski school meeting point in the town centre.
St Bernard is a traditional three floor ski chalet, typical of the style of the Savoie region. There are numerous windows, balconies running the full length of the chalet, and lots of wood facings both inside and outside which give it a warm and welcoming air. The lounge/dining room has particularly large windows which makes it very bright and sunny during the day. In the evening, the open log fire becomes the focal point. There is also a DVD player in the lounge, so if you wish bring your favourite DVDs with you.
Bedroom 6, which is accessed by an external stairway at the rear of the chalet, is really a 50 square metre suite. In addition to the bedroom, bathroom and wc, there is a lounge which offers marvellous views from the big picture window. There is a double bed settee in this lounge which can be used if necessary.
Note: There are certain weeks throughout the season when room 6 is available as a self contained self catering apartment. The apartment is for four people and has facilities in the kitchen including a small oven, hob and washing machine. |

| Skiing from the Chalet |
| In the morning anybody who can ski a blue run, can put skis on at the door, and follow a wide gently, sloping path 100 m to the Dou du Midi piste. A beginner will have a 5 minute walk or short bus ride to the ski school meeting point in the Centre of Courchevel 1850. At the end of the day, most skiers should be able to ski right back to the chalet. |
