In Val d’Isere there are two nurseries which will look after children from three years of age. For younger children & babies there is the option of child care within the chalet, there are currently three private organisations offering this service in Val d’Isere (see below). Alternatively, most are happy for clients to bring their own nanny au pair.

In Val d’Isere, children aged four and under ski for free, also, the nursery slopes in Val d’Isere are free so if your children are aged over four they may not require a lift pass until the middle of the week.

Village des Enfants – nursery, 2011 – 2012

The Village des Enfants is the main nursery in Val d’Isere, it is ideally situated on the nursery slopes in the heart of the town. It is open from Sunday to Thursday 9.00 – 17.45 and Friday 9.00 – 14.00 and accepts children aged between 18 months and 13 years old.

There is an option of ski tuition alongside the nursery care for either mornings, afternoons full days or by the hour. Example of cost is as follows;

Le Petit Poucet – nursery, 2011 – 2012

Le Petit Poucet is the second nursery in Val d’Isere, it offers a slightly different service from the Village des Enfants; no ski school lessons are provided but they will transport children to & from their lessons. They will also pick up and drop off children at chalets at the beginning and end of the day.

They are open seven days a week from 9.00 – 17.30 each day. Again, they offer lots of different timings from one hour to a whole week in the nursery or just a pick up and lunch.  A selection of costs and timings are as follows;

A deposit will be required to make a booking and payment can only be made in Euros.

Valtina Childcare – private nanny service

A private nanny / childcare service which has been operating in Val d’Isere since 2005. All nannies are CRB checked.

Children are looked after in the chalet or on the snow and they can cater for individual children or groups, for a half day, full day or for the week. The nannies / childminders are happy to cook for children with ingredients provided by the parents.

t4 Private Nanny Service

A private nanny service, their fourth winter of operation in Val d’Isere. All t4 nannies are CRB checked, have first aid training and have to provide 2 written references. t4 nannies come to the chalet to look after the children and will organise indoor activities from mask making to musical statues. In addition they will take the children outside to play each day.

Evening Baby-Sitting

A list of registered baby-sitters is available from the Val d’Isere tourist office, most of them will be French.

Alternatively, with advance warning, we are happy, using our network of staff and friends, to attempt to find our clients a baby-sitter. Please be aware that this can be difficult in the evenings particularly on the staff day off and can only be done on the understanding that all arrangements regarding hours, payment, responsibilities etc. are between our clients and our staff/friends. It is not normally possible for our staff to baby-sit during the hours they would normally be working.
