The reduced rate family pass applies to families of at least two adults and two children under 18 years old (or students under 22 years old, proof will be required). The fourth and subsequent ski passes will be at half price. All members of the family must have the same family name and proof, such as a passport, will be required.
Note – calculation of the family price is fairly complex and depends on family members’ ages, from oldest to youngest.
Proof of age is required for all childrens passes and the reduced price adults passes.

‘Hands-Free’ lift pass system
The Val d’Isere lift pass company (STVI) have installed a hands free lift pass system. On purchase of your lift pass you will be issued with a coded card which can remain safely in your pocket for the whole of your skiing or snowboarding day – a great bonus on snowy days!
Note: If you lose your pass or it stops working replacements can be obtained but ONLY by showing the receipt that was issued with the card. So….take care of that receipt!
Photographs
For those purchasing a lift pass for less than eight days it is no longer necessary to have a photograph. HOWEVER, for those purchasing a lift pass for eight days or longer (i.e. those travelling by train) a passport style photograph is still required.
Reduced rate ski passes
Available for adults 65 – 74 years of age and children 5 – 14 years – proof of age is required.
Free ski passes
Available for children aged four and under & adults aged 75 and over – proof of age is required, they must also purchase a coded card for the hands free system, this costs approx 3€.
Free lifts for Beginners
In Val d’Isere the nursery slopes are free – this covers two chair lifts and five drag lifts. So beginners may not need to purchase a lift pass for the first few days of their holiday
Added bonus – skiing boarding in other resorts
During the main part of the season, with a Val d’Isere ski pass that is valid for six days or more, you can ski or board for one day in: the Three Valleys, Paradiski (La Plagne & Les Arcs) and or Valmorel. There is a small charge of 10€.
Half day pass
These are available from 12.45pm
