The Val d'Isere lift pass company (STVI) have installed a hands free lift pass system. On purchase of your lift pass you will be issued with a coded plastic card which can remain safely in your pocket for the whole of your skiing or snowboarding day - a great bonus on snowy days!
For those purchasing a lift pass for less than 8 days it is no longer necessary to have a photograph. HOWEVER, for those purchasing a lift pass for 8 days of longer (i.e. those travelling by train) a passport style photograph is still required.
Children aged 4 and under & adults aged 75 and over (proof of age is required), but they must have a hands free card which costs 3 Euros
In Val d'Isere the nursery slopes are free - this covers 2 chair lifts and 5 drag lifts. So beginners may not need to purchase a lift pass for the first few days of their holiday
During the main part of the season, with a Val d'Isere pass that is valid for 6 days or more, you can ski board for one day in: the Three Valleys, Paradiski (La Plagne & Les Arcs) and or Valmorel. There is a small charge of 10 Euros
